RINGWOOD TOWN       1  v  2     COWES SPORTS

Attendance:-  32

Cowes Sports made the trip to the New Forest for this League match to take on Ringwood Town, both sides on the back of excellent FA Vase victories against Corsham Town(4 – 0) and Cadbury Heath(3 – 2) respectively.

Jordan Browne and Enrique Villar were both rested in dropping to the bench with John McKie and Keelan Sainsbury coming into the starting line up. The home side made three changes to there previous line up.

Just seven minutes on the clock and Ringwood threatened the Cowes goal as Dave Saunders saw his shot hit the top of the crossbar with keeper Ed Hatt beaten. Cowes responded two minutes later when Keelan Sainsbury’s corner from the left was headed just wide of goal by Ryan Gregory. The home side were stunned in the 23rd minute as they fell behind when another Keelan Sainsbury corner from the left was thumped home by JOE ADAMS at the back post, although some suggestions that Ryan Gregory got the last touch but would have been offside!

Experienced Sean Leadbetter nearly brought the home side level just two minutes later but his header flew wide of Ed Hatt’s right post, Cowes hit back to double their advantage in the 32nd minute when a clearance from deep in the Cowes half found its way through for JOE ADAMS to run onto before expertly dispatching the ball past Steve Marais in the home goal.

In the 41st minute the ball played down the Cowes right looked to have gone out of play, but the Assistant was unsighted and play continued, Keelan Sainsbury then tried to see the ball out for a goal kick, but Ringwood’s forward put him under pressure and nicked the ball before pulling it back for HARRY MORGAN to blast past Ed Hatt and into the left corner of his goal to give the home side a boost just before half time.

Cowes made a substitution at half time, Aidan Bryan(injured) being replaced by Nathan Lewis. Both sides saw plenty of the ball but neither were able to create any decent chances to trouble the keepers. Enrique Villar replaced Jez Conway before Jordan Browne came on for Ross Gregory as Cowes tried to find the bit of quality to add to their goal tally, but nothing changed as the Yachtsmen held on with ease to claim the three points that keeps them unbeaten in the League so far.
