ANDOVER TOWN    3  –  3     COWES SPORTS

Attendance:-

A trip to The Portway to take on high flying Andover Town was next in line for Cowes Sports.

An early Aidan Sainsbury corner had Andover keeper Jamie Bray scrambling across his goal-line to punch the ball away to safety. Andover then saw a volley hit the side netting before Cowes took the lead when John McKie’s cross was laid back by Jordan Browne for JARED WETHERICK to strike a low shot into the bottom right corner of Jamie Bray’s goal. Ten minutes later, the home side were level when a clearance fell to SAMMY PEKUN who fired an unstoppable volley into Ed Hatt’s top right corner. Shortly before the break the home side took the lead when CHARLIE GUNSON fired past Ed Hatt after Cowes failed to clear their lines.

H-t 2 – 1

The second half started as the first ended with Cowes conceding another goal when IBRAHIM OLUTADE blasted home. Cowes were unlucky as they thought that John McKie had been fouled in the build up to the goal, but again the Officials were not interested. In the 71st minute John McKie tested Jamie Bray, but the Andover stopper won that battle. Just a minute later and Cowes did pull one back when a short free kick from Aidan Sainsbury to James Butt to the right of their area saw the full back cross via a slight deflection off a defender, to the far post where JORDAN BROWNE rose to head home from 2 yards. This gave Cowes hope and with injury time fast approaching a ball through the middle was pounced on by JOHN MCKIE, and as Jamie Bray came out he nonchalantly lifted the ball over him and into the net for an equaliser. A great fight back by the lads.
