SHOLING        4  –  0       COWES SPORTS

Attendance:- 57

Another tough fixture for the Island side, a short trip to the Silverlake Arena, home of former F A Vase winners Sholing for the latest mid-week fixture.

The Island side started the game quite well but failed to take advantage with any chances at goal. Nick Yeomans fired a low shot at Ed Hatt before he then managed to head the ball over the crossbar from just two yards out. In the 23rd minute the inevitable happened when Sholing took the lead. Aidan Bryan slipped on the left edge of the area and hotshot DAN MASON fired the ball across Ed Hatt into the bottom right corner of the goal. In the 37th minute the home side increased their advantage when JAMIE BULPITT took advantage of Cowes not clearing the ball to blast the ball home from just inside the box via a slight deflection.

H-t 2 – 0

Cowes fought hard during the second half, but the home side always looked the more likely to add to their goal tally. The third goal came in the 62nd minute when a cross from the left found NICK YEOMANS to volley the ball into the net then number four came with 15 minutes remaining when DAN MASON again fired the ball across the face of the Cowes goal into the bottom right corner of the Cowes goal to finish the scoring for the night.

Cowes Sports would like to thank Sholing for the later KO time(8pm) in order to help with the travel arrangements.
