The Yachtsmen traveled to Lymington for this League fixture amid strong winds with some very blustery showers some of hail.

A game of few clear cut chances saw visitors Cowes Sports ask the early questions, John Mckie’s effort was smothered by the home keeper. Ed Hatt was called into action to block a low shot from forward Nick Magee. Aidan Sainsbury floated a free kick towards the back post where a home defender nearly put the ball into his own goal but Stuart Williamson saved his blushes by scrambling the ball away for a corner. John McKie then tried an audacious chip that the home keeper just managed to get his finger tips to to push the ball over the bar for another corner. Final chance of the first half saw Nathan Lewis head a Aidan Sainsbury corner over the bar as the first period remained score less.

H-t 0 – 0

Lymington came out for the second half determined to use the wind advantage. They forced several corners in the first ten minutes but Ed Hatt remained untroubled. Cowes began to create some chances of their own as Jordan Browne shot into their keepers’ chest. Jared Wetherick and Dexter Malin broke quick through the middle, the latter rounded the keeper but took the ball too wide so could only lay the ball back to the former who shot wide of their right hand post. Late on one final chance when John McKie saw his shot pushed away before Jared Wetherick’s follow up was also pushed away by Stuart Williamson to earn his side a share of the points.
