The Yachtsmen started the in confident form against the side that had finished in third place last season and will be amongst the favourites for the Title again this time around.
After 16 minutes debutant Leigh Mackenzie found Jason Malcolmson out wide on the left wing and he charged into the box where he crossed to John McKie, who squeezed his shot just inside the post to give Cowes a deserved lead.
On the half hour the visitors equalised when Jimmy Wykes failed to clear on the edge of the box, allowing Carl Preston to fire his shot over Ed Hatt into the far corner.
After the break, chances came and went at both ends until67 minutes when Ed Hatt denied the visitors with a stunning save from a close range header.
With a share of the points looking likely, Blackfield edged in front as Carl Preston smashed a right wing cross home from six yards, giving Ed Hatt no chance.
Cowes pressed, with increasing desperation, for an equaliser but they were caught on the break by the visitors, who raced away with 4 to 1 man advantage in the 94th minute, Jamie White finishing off the move with the last kick of the match.
