A early Aedan Coode corner flicked off the head of a Ventnor defender to James Cheek but his shot was easily saved by Matt Gifford in the visitors goal. Former Yachtsmen Giancarlo Giancovich then saw his shot hit Max Coshell and go for a corner. On 9 minutes the home defence lost possession near to their area and were punished as CHARLIE URRY tucked the ball under Fraser Law into the net. Cowes struggled to find any sort of reply and just past the half hour mark fell further behind when a cross into the box from midfield was allowed to pick out CHARLIE URRY who brought it down before firing past Fraser Law to double the visitors lead. Worse was to follow for the home side as five minutes before the break across from the Ventnor left struck the hand of right back Luke Phillips, A penalty was awarded by Steve Currie and CHARLIE URRY stepped up to send Fraser Law the wrong way and complete his hat trick. The returning Dom Sexton was then shown a yellow card for pulling back a Ventnor player mid way in the Cowes half.

For the start of the second half Arthur Balchin and James Wright were brought on in place of James Cheek and Daniel Pearson. Within Minutes Arthur Balchin was a little lucky to only see yellow when he scythed down a Ventnor player near the half way line. In the 55th minute Aedan Coode saw his shot cannon off the crossbar before a lifeline for the home side when Aiden White and Aedan Coode combined well down the right, the latter’s cross was pushed away to DARREN WILLIAMS who bundled the ball into the goal. The same three players again combined well but this time Ventnor’s keeper saved. 66 minutes gone and a Luke Phillips cross had Matt Gifford back pedalling to tip the ball over the bar. A minute later an Aarun Ince corner from in front of the clubroom was palmed out by their keeper but only to Ventnor defender KENNY CUTHBERT who headed the ball back into his own net to bring the home side back into contention. Aedan Coode sent a shot inches wide as Cowes looked for an equaliser, but the home side were undone by a quick break which finished with CHARLIE URRY volleying home on the angle from 18 yards to secure the points for Ventnor. The visitors then had Liam Mulholland sent off for two bookings before Cowes were also reduced to ten men five minutes from time as Dom Sexton picked up a second yellow. Steve Currie then blew the final whistle which many thought was five minutes early.
