Pre Season v Bush Hill Sat August 22nd

Mid week had seen the Government and FA allow spectators back into grounds but with limits of 150 until the end of August.

So Cowes Sports entertained Hampshire Premier League side Bush Hill in a game that kicked off at 2pm.

The Islanders started brightly and went ahead on 14 minutes when JOHN McKIE placed his shot into the right corner of the goal following good work by Scott McFarlane, Alex Wright and James Wykes. In the 20th minute the lead was doubled when a superb ball from Callum chase was latched onto by JOHN McKIE who buried his shot in the back of the net. Bush Hill then forced Ed Hatt to save well before their keeper done really well to get a strong hamd to a James Wykes effort. Four minutes before half time and JOHN McKIE completed his hat trick firring intio the top left corner of the goal to give the home side a comfortable 3 – 0 half time lead.

Half time substitute was immediately in the thick of the action when he saw his header clawed away by the Bush Hill keeper. Alex Wright had a shot from distance straight at the keeper before Conor White watched his cross scooped up over the bar by a defender. In the 72nd minute Callum Chase conceded a penalty that led to a few handbags and the visitors number 3 being shown a red card for an elbow whilst Callum Chase and another Bush Hill player were shown yellow cards. Ed Hatt, low to his right, superbly saved the resulting spot kick and within three minutes JOHN McKIE added his and Cowes’ fourth goal of the game to seal a comfortable victory.
